With a global turnover of $54 million our client enjoys a worldwide reputation for the design and manufacture of high quality electrical, electronic and pneumatic control solutions for a range of applications. A pioneering manufacturer of quality components for rotating machinery since beginning in the USA in 1948, the European business opened in 1963. Nowadays, they provide control and instrumentation solutions for engines, compressors, gearboxes, turbines, entertainment and pumps within the marine, rail, power generation and oil & gas markets.

Functie omschrijving

You will strategically grow business opportunities with existing and new representatives and distributors in The Netherlands. You will act as the company expert on assigned market opportunities and market dynamics. Our client currently has 3 manufacturing sites and 9 sales offices positioned around the world so you would be joining a truly global sales team with a US parent. Reports to Senior Channel Manager in the UK.

Essential tasks and duties:

  • Develop and execute growth strategy plans to increase account penetration
  • To increase revenue and margin level for each representative and distributor
  • Anticipate and analyze customer (current and future) needs, industry market segment trends
  • Execute market and segment growth strategy
  • Identify new markets
  • Conduct territory data analysis and identify new applications
  • Identify new projects
  • Provide Key Account Management when necessary
  • Set up channel goals
  • Conduct channel results review
  • To increase revenue and margin level for each representative and distributors
  • Conduct channel selection, termination and consolidation
  • Train sales channels in company products
  • Implement project and opportunity forecasting
  • Launch new products in the territory
  • Provide competitive intelligence
  • Provide customer and channel relationship management
  • Minimum of 50% face-to-face customer contact

Kandidaatprofiel

  • Engineering degree level qualifications or equivalent work experience
  • Strong distribution/channel sales experience, ideally with 3 - 5 years experience gained in a technical, engineering specified industry sector
  • Experience of the control and instrumentation sector or an engine, turbine, compressor or gearbox manufacturer would be an advantage as would knowledge of the marine market
  • An accomplished negotiator in a B2B sales environment
  • Sound presentation skills and the ability to explain complex technologies and product features
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal, interpersonal, and communications skills with fluency in English and Dutch
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and organization skills
  • A tough-minded, self-starter with high levels of energy and determination and the ability to motivate and lead distribution channels in the represented countries
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office products
  • Home based, ideally living in the Rotterdam area, with the ability to travel within the agreed territory and occasionally globally (approximately 50% of time will be spent travelling).
